These experiences have shaped his belief in transparency, civic engagement, and the power of ordinary citizens to make a difference.
Why Im Running for High Baliff at 18
The High Bailiff plays a unique and vital role in Vermont’s system of checks and balances. As a civilian official, the High Bailiff is empowered to provide independent oversight of the county sheriff—ensuring that no one is above accountability and that law enforcement remains transparent and responsive to the people it serves.
Hudson believes this office matters because strong civilian oversight builds public trust. When residents know there is an independent voice watching out for fairness, transparency, and proper conduct, local government becomes more accessible and more accountable.
His commitment is simple: to uphold the responsibilities of the High Bailiff with integrity, transparency, and a firm dedication to serving the public. Hudson is running to ensure that oversight is taken seriously, that government remains open to the people it represents, and that every resident feels empowered to engage with and influence their local institutions.
